Ferry Routes to Gotland

On behalf of the Sweden Government, Destination Gotland is a company assigned to oversee the operations of ferries connecting Gotland to the Swedish mainland. The major ports from Sweden to Gotland Island are Nynäshamn and Oskarshamn. There is also Västervik which is a bit smaller.

Oskarshamn- Visby Ferry Route

Oskarshamn is a small town in Smaland with a port that connects Sweden to Gotland. It is noticeable and interesting to know how German vacationers use this route to connect to Gotland. The island has lots of historical ruins, a botanical garden, and lovely nature loved by Germans.

From Oskarshamn, ferries make up to two trips a day to cross over to Visby port. Moreover, the approximate time to cross is 2 hours to 55 minutes. Do you need to travel with your pet to Gotland? In the lower case, booking a ferry for an adult with a car during the off-peak seasons is €65 on a one-way ticket. On the contrary, if you are two adults with a car, you will part with €118 on a one-way ticket.

For Tuesday to Thursday, ferries from Nynäshamn depart at 06:00, 12:40, 16:15, and 22:10. The ferries arrive in Visby port at 17:54, 19:29, and 1:24 respectively. The times differ from Friday to Monday, where ferries from Nynäshamn depart at 02:30, 07:15, 11:40, 15:30, 16:45, 18:15, and 20:30 for the six trips to arrive in Visby port after taking 3hours 15mintues.

On the other hand, from Tuesday to Wednesday, departing time at Visby port is 01:10, 08:30, 12:15: and 18:00 to arrive in Nynäshamn after taking 3hours 15minutes. When traveling from Visby between Fridays to Mondays, the departure time is 03:05, 07:00, 11:20, 12:45, 14:05, 16:00, and 22:20. The journey ends at Nynäshamn after 3 hours and 15 minutes.
